Hi!
It's been a while since I've done an update here, tisk tisk on me. Thanks if you've still been stopping by and my apologies on the hibernation of sorts!
Anyway, here's whats happening in the life of DP, as brief as I can put it. I became a father in March! She's a beautiful healthy girl and we couldn't be happier as parents to this new little monster in our world. That really has been the majority of my life over the last couple months so you can understand why its just been easy to take some time off from music and shows to adjust to the Dad life. I still really suck at singing lullabies, not that I ever had a reason to sing them, but it's mostly because I don't know the words to any of them. I improvise though, like any rapper would. Smiley face.
As far as other things, I've been working on some collabs with other artists that might be seeing the light of day sometime soon and also slowly getting back to work on my new album and a handful of side projects that have been accumulating over the past year or so.
The 2nd installment of the Keep It Rural series produced by DJ Pain 1 is pretty much finished, just need to get some guest features recorded and finish a couple things on my end. Hopefully will have a release date in late Summer/early Fall.
I have half of the new album produced entirely by Ecid (congrats on your move to Brooklyn!) written and some recorded too. Just got the second half of beats recently so that should keep me busy for a while. Depending on the schedule and a possible tour, looking to release that in Winter sometime, don't quote me on that though.
I'll get Jay Be ILL back in the studio too, it's been long overdue and it wouldn't be a DP project without some of the homies cuts!
My coming out of Rap Dad retirement show! Well, not really, but playing my first show of they year at the Oshkosh Main Street Music Festival Friday July 28th @ Peabody's Ale House! Jay Be ILL will be holding the decks down all night and I will be on the mic alongside other Oshkosh homies Keag, EvryOne, and Veech. Nice line up of some of the best the city has to offer. So come on out and support your local music scene and festival. Tons of music all weekend from just about every genre you can think of, not to mention a awesome selection of venues throughout Downtown.
More info and a flyer on the show soon!
Thanks for taking the time to read this jargon and hope to see all you beautiful motherfuckers soon!
